Building things
that matter

I'm George, a software engineer with 6+ years of experience building web applications. I've worked on everything from fintech platforms and educational tools to real-time betting games.

I work across the full stack, mostly with Node.js on the backend and Next.js and SvelteKit on the frontend. SvelteKit is my favourite framework. The simplicity and speed it brings to a project is hard to beat. I'm always looking to pick up new tools and technologies to stay sharp.

I'm comfortable with the heavy lifting too: full data migrations, automation pipelines, keeping things running in production. Outside of work I enjoy exploring Rust, Go and C++.

Things I've
built

Svelte Reactive Table

Open-source headless table library for Svelte with full TypeScript support. Designed for composability. Bring your own styles and behaviour.

SvelteTypeScriptOpen Source

Clipboard Manager

Lightweight, privacy-focused clipboard manager built in Go with clean architecture principles. Background daemon with SQLite history, sensitive data detection, a REST API over Unix socket, and a CLI tool.

This site

Built with Astro because I wanted to learn it, and it turned out to be the right call. Content collections, self-hosted fonts, cookieless analytics, a notes section, and a custom cursor nobody asked for.

Technologies I have
worked with

Can't imagine going back to plain JS. The autocomplete alone is worth it
TypeScript
Where it all started. Still the foundation of everything I build
JavaScript
Took me the longest to click. We have a complicated relationship
Angular
Solid, but TanStack is what made it really click for me
React
Made web development satisfying again
TanStack Ecosystem
First choice for anything new. The simplicity is unmatched
Svelte
A great middle ground, approachable without sacrificing power
Vue.js
Hated it, loved it, now hate it again. A full journey in one framework
Next.js
Once you go Tailwind, you never go back
Tailwind
New here. Already regretting not using it sooner
Astro
My backend default. Feels like home
Node.js
Really good! Finally a backend with structure and great DX
NestJS
It's just there. Always has been, always will be
Express
Exploring it outside work. Fast, simple, refreshingly boring
Go
Relational, reliable, never lets me down
PostgreSQL
Schema? We don't do that here
MongoDB
'It works on my machine' became a legal, shippable product strategy.
Docker
Powerful. The docs and the bill both give me anxiety
AWS
Where my code lives, my side projects go to die and security issues are apparently just features
GitHub
Made me appreciate every other tool I have ever used
Salesforce
One of the good ones. Actually makes content management enjoyable
Contentful
